Funny Summer Pictures

This was August 28th and I thought they were so funny. It was the last day of the Summer and we ran through the sprinklers and chased each other with freezing cold water.

Our three little pumpkins: Hermione Granger, little Devil girl, and Ninja with TWO swords. We had a blast getting ready for their school Halloween parties and all the excitement of showing our costumes to our friends.

Our traditional pumpkin picking at Norton Farm this year. It was a farm that we visited with Derek's preschool and we thought it would be nice to bring the girls and Daddy here to get our own pumpkins and take fall pictures. We even had an awesome tractor-pulled hayride.

Colette and Daddy run 5K for NAMI

Colette ran her first 5K for Mental Illness and Dad walked it along the river in Batavia. It was a beautiful Fall day and we had fun watching Colette and her best friend Brianna and all the other runners have fun. GO COCO!

We are back! October 29, 2010

After a long hiatus in blogging, we are back for all of you who are interested in our lives here in freezing Illinois! We did send out our Fall 2009-Summer2010 book, so hopefully you are up to date. Here is the girls 1st day of school, August 25th. Colette is going into 5th Grade and Chanti into 3rd Grade. Both of them have wonderful teachers! And Derek's first day of school at his preschool, which he absolutely loves and does not understand why he can't go there every day. I tell him it's because I would miss him too much, but he says that I'll be ok and that I can still have him in the morning and after school.... He has a locker with his picture on it where he puts his backpack with extra clothes and whatever else he needs to bring that day.

Christmas Day! We celebrated Christmas at my parents in Boca Raton. We had a very nice Peruvian dinner on Christmas Eve after going to church. The kids opened one present each and we made it to bed. Christmas morning was too early for us adults, although 8 o'clock seemed like an eternity for the kids to wait. We had many gifts to open, Santa was very generous and brought the girls their in-like skates, an American girl for Chanti, a Skateboard for Colette, Wolverine outfit and claws for Derek. My mom had the house beautifully decorated, very elegant, just like her. We had our morning coffee and then off we went to the clubhouse for a Christmas extravaganza brunch with Santa. It was a feast! We really had a wonderful time, relaxing, swimming in Opa's warm pool (thanks Dad), and playing and learning how to skateboard and in-line skate with Richi, Dietrich and Dad. Our 10 days in Florida were the best!

December 20, 2009 - Chanti's Nutcracker Performance

Chanti was cast as a flower in Nutcracker with the Geneva Park District. They performed three times on this Saturday! Her friend Mary-Grace is also pictured and they go to school together. Chanti is taking Ballet, Lyrical and Tap classes, as well as Tumbling and Piano. She loves to perform on stage and have stage make-up on.
