Max Cousins Family Reunion - July 5, 2009

Stevensville, Michigan was the sight for our Max Cousins Family Reunion 2009. We all got together at Aunt Alice Max's house, and most of us with kids stayed a few minutes away at different hotels for the weekend. We drove into Michigan on Saturday, July 4th and had a barbacue and just hung around all day, playing in the backyard with the kids, playing cards, Mike and Cyndi brought all the kids their own personalized "Cuzins" weekend in S'vensville t-shirt, and then after dinner we all got back together for some fireworks. Branden has a better picture of all of us together, so I will post it when I get it.

Max Cousins Family Reunion - July 5, 2009

Today was "beach day" and after everybody had breakfast we all climbed up the sand dunes and made it to the beach. It was a beautiful sunny day and the kids had fun running around, playing with the sand and just enjoying each other. Here are some of the pictures from that day:

High School Musical Theater Camp - July 2, 2009

The girls have been out of school now for three weeks. This week they went to a High School Musical Theater Camp and it has been "awesome" according to both. In the morning they do drama, voice and dancing, and in the afternoon they play games and rehearse for the finale perfomance of HSM. Every day is a different theme and today was "come as a superhero" day. Chanti is "Storm," Colette is "AquaGirl," and Derek who has to be included in everything is "Superman"

Behind the Scenes - Ballet Recital - June 21, 2009

Colette and Chanti finally had their day on stage. It took months of rehearsals, both in regular class and on Sundays, but I feel this production of "Sleeping Beauty" was magnificent. Both girls were in awe of the "big girls" on pointe and the whole magic of being backstage, the rushing, the lights, the nervousness before coming out onto stage, the waiting in their dressing rooms. I captured some images behind the scenes both on dress rehearsal day and on the evening performace day, as I was one of the mom helpers too. I only wish I could have put on a tutu and danced right along them...jaja

Recital Picture Day - June 7, 2009

Today was picture day for the recital that Colette and Chanti are dancing in. Both are in Sleeping Beauty, Colette is in the "Garden Waltz" on both shows, the matinee and the evening show. Colette has been part of the "Ballet Training Program" this year and she has really grown as a ballerina and loves being on stage. Chanti is a "Butterfly" in the matinee show, and she also performs in the second act of the matinee show in a jazz/ballet piece. These are the pictures of them waiting to the photographed.

These are the pictures from home of Colette's Birthday Celebration with her friends. We had a butterfly theme and played a scavenger hunt game, which is why Chanti is wearing my shoes as it was one of the requirements of one of the clues.

Today is Colette's actual birthday and I brought in a cake for her classroom at school. All 3rd Graders gobbled my homemake cake. Colette wanted a "huge" cake so she could go around school and share it with all her favorite teachers. After school, I picked up four of her friends, Sami, Amy, Brianna and Macey, and took them to the Vaughn Center were they swam for 1 1/2 hours. Then we drove home and ate Chinese food and had a fun time being silly.

The weekend before we also celebrated Colette's birthday at Grandpa and Grandma's house with Colette's favorite dessert, Grandma's berry crisp. Colette wore their birthday present on her actual birthday and you can see it on the picture. So as you can see, Colette was celebrated three time!

Unbirthday for Chanti - June 2, 2009

Today was Chanti's "Unbirthday" at her school. I brought in a cake and all her friends sang her a Happy Birthday. Because school ends in 6 days and her actual birthday is August 5, we celebrate this day. Chanti just finished a great 1st Grade and is turning 7!
