Ballet Splits

November 4, 2008

The girls came back from their respective ballet classes today and they were excited to show us their splits. Both of them accomplished this today! They have been practicing a lot of stretching moves at home and at ballet. Colette is liking her Ballet Training Program and Chanti enjoys her combination Ballet/Jazz class with Ms. Bridget. Both of them want to get to pointe shoes now and are always trying on Abue's pointe shoes at home.

Halloween 2008

We started our Halloween celebration at 7:30 a.m. because the girls had to be dressed in their costumes for school. Derek could not decide what he wanted to be, so in the morning he was a prince, and later that day he became a pirate. The girls then had their celebration at school from 2 - 3:30 p.m. and us moms were there helping with snacks, activities and crafts. By the time school was over at 3:30 p.m. I was done with Halloween...BUT things were just getting started for the kids. We came home to freshen up and then at 4:20 p.m. left to go trick-or-treating at Chanti's friend's neighborhood (Morgan). There we saw many of our classmates trick-or-treating. After an hour of so much fun and the bags being full of candy, we got into our car and made our way to Brianna's neighborhood (Colette's friend). We got there at 6 p.m., ate pizza and left the house again for some more trick-or-treating. I was exhausted by the end of the evening, and we have candy to last us all year long. Happy Halloween from the Max Family!

Pumpking Picking

October 19, 2008

We went to a pumpkin farm in Geneva and each of the kids picked their own pumpkin to decorate our house. Derek loved riding the wagon, being pulled around by Colette or Chanti. There were some fun Halloween decorations there too. It was really windy!

Derek's 1st Day of "School"

September 11, 2008

Today is Derek's first Thursday of School at Batavia United Methodist Church. He was excited to go and get his backpack on and have his lunch box too. He is going once per week to this program and after I left him, he was not happy. He is also diaper-free and has been potty trained since August 24!

Little Poms

September 5, 2008

Colette and Chanti participated in the Little Poms program put on by the Dance Team at Batavia High School. They practiced routines for a whole week and they were able to dance during half-time at the first Batavia High School Varsity Football Game. It was so much fun and they felt like big girls cheering their team on: The Bulldogs! Colette found a few of her classmates (boys !!!!) at the game. Here I am taking a picture of one of them "pretending" to take a picture of the football field...haha

Lunch at School

August 22, 2008

Today Derek and I ate lunch at school with the girls. Chanti eats lunch from 11:20 - 11:40 a.m. and then goes out to the playground for recess. Here she is with BFFs Morgan and Mary Grace, and then eating lunch with Alexis, Chloe and Morgan. And then Colette eats lunch from noon - 12:20 p.m. and then goes for a 20 minute recess at the playground. Derek loves visiting his sisters and grabbing the crackers and apples that are available for those buying their lunch at school. We then go out to play! A few times per month Colette and Chanti get to buy their lunch at school depending on that day's menu.
